About Dr. Erin McQueen: Principle Investigator for Research Study MACARI-7
Dr. Erin received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. She graduated with Suma Cum Laude honors. While attending UIU she played basketball, as well as interned at several veterinary clinics. Dr. McQueen originally planned to attend a veterinary medicine school after undergrad to become a vet like her grandfather before her. However, after interning at veterinary clinics she quickly realized her inability to tolerate blood during large scale surgeries. It was during one of her internships that Dr. Erin witnessed a vet adjusting one of his animal patients, with excellent results. Dr. Erin realized that if she became a chiropractor she could help both people and animals achieve health and well being without drugs or surgery.
Dr. Erin then went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. There she obtained her Doctorate of Chiropractic and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. While at Palmer, Erin was a motion palpation representative for the Motion Palpation Institute. She also was a student instructor for the physical therapy lab courses, and a rehab intern in the outpatient rehabilitation center. Dr. Erin attended numerous postgraduate courses focusing on functional rehabilitation, advanced chiropractic technique, and soft tissue treatments to achieve a higher standard of care for her patients-both human and animal alike.
After graduating from Palmer, Dr. Erin attended post-graduate training at The Healing Oasis Wellness Center in Sturtevant, WI. There she received her CVSMT (certified veterinary spinal manipulative therapist) diploma to be able to adjust animals. The program is a 5 module, 226+ hour post-graduate certification program, with an emphasis on functional neurology for both small and large animals. The Healing Oasis Wellness Center is the only animal chiropractic program that is a nationally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Edu.
Dr. Erin has always appreciated animal chiropractic and what it can do. To help not only her clients but the profession as a whole, Dr. Erin has dedicated her time and energy to researching the various types of manipulation that can benefit animals.
In her free time Dr. Erin enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Mike McQueen, their daughter Avrie McQueen, their Bernese Mountain Dog named Willow, and their horse named Jake. Dr. Erin’s hobbies include: swimming, yoga, horseback riding, volleyball, biking, fishing, and art and crafts.
Dr. Erin's passion for animals developed at an early age, and it shaped her future ever since. She grew up in SW Iowa with two quarter horses, Dusty and Dolly, a dog named Bo, and multiple farm cats. Dr. Erin's dream is to have an animal refuge center.
